It's a bird! It's a plane! It's David and Marla's Soup Kitchen!

A little apartment in the West Village, on tree-lined Perry Street. High ceilings. A big mirror reflecting the faces of everyone in the room.

And food.

That's one thing that this is all about: food. And every three weeks or so, David and Marla

open up their place to a hungry crew of media junkies, publishers, webheads, students and friends, for the Thursday night soup kitchen, with bubbling pots of delectable food, fresh bread, homebrewed beer and deep red wine.

This is our digest, no pun intended, of our Thursday night soup kitchen dinners. Our San Francisco counterparts also eat together-- though their neighborhood allows them to see each other more often than ours.

Ovid Jacob visited us during a trip east from San Francisco. Here is his report.

The November 2 Post Halloween Bash at the CyborgaNYC Soup Kitchen in New York.
